The University of Southern California has a proud tradition of educating future Navy and Marine Corps officers in support of America. Since its establishment in 1940, USCs NROTC Unit has commissioned over 2,500 Navy and Marine Corps officers. Many of our alumni have gone on to serve as distinguished leaders in the Naval and Marine Corps service, government, higher education, industry, and in communities throughout the United States.
The Battalion is the military unit for all Midshipmen at USC. The battalion experience gives NROTC students an idea of how things work in the Navy and Marine Corps, where small-unit cohesion, teamwork and morale are as important in peacetime operations as in combat. Many of our most rewarding experiences at USC are those we shared with members of our battalion. We studied, drilled, played and competed as teams with our battalion mates. We learned to trust and rely on each other. At the completion of our four years at USC we graduated and were commissioned as officers in the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps. We left with a lifetime bond with our class and our school. Fight On!
